CD: Radio Sechaba

Bokani Dyer, a multi-award-winning musician with a worldwide reputation, joins the new wave of South African jazz artists, including Siya Makuzeni and Nduduzo Makhathini, with his new Brownswood album.
"Radio Sechaba" offers an intimate insight into South Africa's diverse population and explores themes of nation building and unity, its title reminiscent of "Radio Freedom" the voice of the ANC in exile. Bokani himself was born into a pre-apartheid Botswana community in exile. Career highlights include the 2019 South African Music Award for Best Jazz Album ("Neo Native"), performances at renowned jazz festivals in Rotterdam, London, Cape Town and as part of the South African Songbook at the Lincoln Centre NYC, as well as his residency at the Bird's Eye Jazz Club in Basel (CH).
